Electric Golf Trolley Frequently Asked Questions
Motorised golf trolleys are compared based on their hands-free functionality (remote-control vs auto-follow), folded size and weight, battery life, terrain handling and brand.
Stewart Golf is a pioneering brand that created the first truly hands-free, follow-me electric golf trolley, alongside a range of high-end remote-control trolleys, all manufactured in the UK.
- The Q Follow is the number one electric golf trolley for walking freely. A clip-on sensor lets it follow you on autopilot – no hauling and no fiddling with remote controls. It comes with a SmartPower lithium battery in two capacity options, with in-app battery monitoring to avoid being caught short.
- The VERTX is our top choice for a golf trolley with remote control. It’s our most compact design, and comes with Active Terrain Control to stay stable on hilly slopes, available in 13 colours.
- The V10 Remote is our iconic remote-controlled golf trolley. It too features Active Terrain Control, and stands out for our much-loved classic chassis design with a built in scorecard and golf ball holder.
For many golfers, the combination of product innovation, two-year warranty and long-term customer support is what sets Stewart Golf apart from other electric trolley brands.
When it comes to customer satisfaction, the reviews for electric golf trolleys say it all. Whether you want to conserve your energy or free up your headspace to focus on your game, a motorised golf trolley is an incredible asset for any player.
It takes away the hassle of lugging your best golf clubs around the course. Whatever the reason you’re considering a hands-free electric golf trolley – be it energy-gains, avoiding strain, or for the simple joy of walking freely – investing in a battery-powered golf trolley pays back in enjoyment, pride, and focus.
Stewart Golf electric golf trolleys are compact, easy to manoeuvre, and store. All models easily fold down to fit in most car boots. The electric golf trolleys themselves all weigh approximately 14kg, with the separate battery weighing approximately 3kg.
Our electric golf trolleys are designed to be stable and robust. They’re engineered with around 2 kg of extra weight (compared to lightweight trolleys) – providing a low center of gravity that makes it less likely to tip over. Ultimately, this reduces the need for manual handling.
Foldable design, convenient grab handles and optional battery unloading make it exceptionally easy to lift and pack away. For comparison – if you can lift a golf bag then you’ll have no trouble lifting a Stewart Golf trolley.
All Stewart Golf electric golf trolleys are designed to handle slopes on the course, expertly engineered to avoid tipping on uneven ground or speeding up as it moves downhill.
Innovative Active Terrain Control (ATC) allows you to stay in control of your electric golf trolley, no matter the ground type. Our auto-following and remote-controlled motorised golf trolleys are designed to let players lock in and traverse the course uphill and downhill with ease.
All Stewart Golf electric golf trolleys are designed with stability in mind.
- The Q Follow can handle hills with its real stabiliser wheels and natural balance – and built-in downhill braking means it keeps its distance from you on the slopes
- VERTX and V10 are engineered to excel in hilly terrain and tricky landscapes with Active Terrain Control technology – the CORTEX technology samples slopes 1,000 times per second and fires a precise braking mechanism to perfect its speed downhill or on uneven slopes
The Stewart Golf Q Follow and VERTX electric golf trolleys come with two capacity options for their SmartPower lithium battery, to suit seasoned or sporadic golfers alike.
The smart power system in the battery is designed for longevity and gives an extremely efficient charge, meaning that whichever capacity you choose, the battery will degrade minimally. But for frequent golfers, a higher capacity battery slightly prolongs the lifespan of the lithium cells when you’re re-charging it regularly.
We recommend recharging the battery after every game. Our SmartPower lithium batteries can be re-charged over 2,000 times, provide plenty of power for an 18-hole round, and come with a 12-month warranty.
Stewart Golf electric golf trolleys are robust, and can easily withstand your average UK golfing climate, including rain, snow, and low temperatures.
To keep things moving smoothly, we advise the following:
- Do not submerge the trolley or drive through deep water
- Avoid driving through puddles and standing water
- Do not re-charge the battery in freezing conditions
- Use winter wheels during wet or icy conditions
The Q Follow is best if you dream of strolling across the course with nothing on your mind but the game ahead. This elite golf trolley follows behind you automatically, or you can send it on to the next tee with remote control. Its weight, dimensions and folded design are almost identical to VERTX, but with the added follow-me technology.
VERTX is your ideal choice if you’re looking for a compact, foldable remote-controlled electric golf trolley. It features our sleekest, most portable design, with easy grab handles. It has the same SmartPowered battery options as the Q Follow, and handles challenging courses with Active Terrain Control.
The V10 Remote is slightly heavier and larger than our other models, but offers the same unparalleled performance, with excellent battery life, easy foldability and Active Terrain Control.
Both our remote models feature Active Terrain Control, offering superior performance on severe, hilly slopes.
Our electric golf trolleys run on a rechargeable lithium battery, ranging in size depending on the golf trolley model and power provided:
- VERTX Remote Base Battery: 2.5kg, 11cm x 12cm x 29cm
- VERTX Remote Max Battery: 3.0kg, 11cm x 12cm x 29cm
- V10 Remote Small Battery: 3kg, 18.8cm x 17.8cm x 8.5cm
- V10 Remote Medium Battery: 4kg, 19.8cm x 17.6cm x 11.0cm
- Q Follow Base battery: 2.5kg, 11cm x 12cm x 29cm
- Q Follow Max Battery: 3.0kg, 11cm x 12cm x 29cm
Not all electric golf trolleys follow you – but Stewart Golf’s Q Follow range does.
All our motorised golf trolleys are designed to be hands-free, with some models (V10 and VERTX) designed for remote-control use, and others (Q Follow) offering both follow-me technology and remote control features.
For our electric trolleys that follow you, all you have to do is attach the remote to yourself via a clip and walk on. You can trust that your motorised golf trolley will be right behind you.
Better yet, Q Follow still includes remote control technology, so you can send your trolley ahead to the next tee, and manually navigate more cluttered environments like carparks with greater control.
Remote-controlled trolleys in our range are controlled by you, using the handset. You can direct as you please, or set it on cruise control to walk a straight line.
All Stewart Golf trolleys can be bought on finance, including the Q Follow, VERTX or V10, allowing you to spread the cost of your trolley over six to 48 months, as you choose. This includes our incredible offer of 0% APR interest-free credit for 12 month plans. Learn more about our finance options and how to apply.
Nothing beats strolling across the golf course – unburdened by the weight of your trolley. While a remote-control golf trolley is a step in the right direction, Stewart Golf stands out for their Q Follow range of electric golf trolleys that follow you automatically.
A small remote clips to your back pocket, and the trolley follows a few paces behind you as you walk, completely untethered. Take in the views, contemplate your next shot, and experience the greatest walk in golf.
VERTX and Q Follow are particularly compact – folded down, they measure 54cm x 60cm x 32cm – roughly the size of a medium suitcase. Along with your other golfing gear, these electric trolleys can comfortably fit into most hatchbacks, mid-size SUVs or estate cars. The quick release back wheels on the Q Follow can also make it easier to navigate smaller boots.
