Gloucester-based premium trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf has been shortlisted for two export awards: ‘International Company of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Innovation in International Trade’.
The South West Global Growth Awards are hosted by Insider, the UK’s most successful regional B2B media company. With uncertainty persisting on the world stage over a Brexit deal, and what the implications will be for trade deals internationally, the awards evening is an ideal environment to recognise the South West’s global players that are pioneering and innovating around international trade.
Insider’s judging panel for the awards, made up of industry experts, noted the exceptional standard of entries this year. The judging panel comprised representatives from the Department for International Trade (DIT), the CBI and International Trade Matters.
Mark Stewart, Stewart Golf CEO said: “Stewart Golf is a truly international business. In 2018 more than 50% of our production was exported almost 40 countries and we now even have our own subsidiary business established in the United States.
“We often receive praise from within our industry for our products, but it’s gratifying for our progress to be compared favourably to businesses in other industries as well.”
David Clensy, editor of South West Business Insider, who chaired the judging session, said: “There were many excellent entries for the awards, which made judging each of the categories quite a challenge.”
These nominations come after Stewart Golf won ‘Small Manufacturer of the Year’ and CEO Mark Stewart won the ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ at the Cotswold Life Engineering, Manufacturing & Innovation Awards late last year.
The celebration of the overseas achievements of South West industry will be held in Bath on 19 June, 2019.
